Julia & Filip

Real bride Julia chose our Jeune Bridal MEDINA wedding gown for her special day in Ibiza, Spain. You can truly feel the energy through her photos – a dream destination wedding! Julia also shares valuable advice on the importance of spontaneity on your special day!

How did you meet?

Our love story started 12 years ago in a small town in the north part of Sweden. We were teenage sweethearts and immediately found something special in each other.

To find your soul mate and the love of your life at such an early age truly is a blessing.

Who proposed and how?

Filip purposed during a vacation in Miami two years ago. He had bought the engagement ring months earlier and hidden it in the closet waiting for the right moment to pop the question. He secretly packed it for the trip to Miami where he had planned a day with activities that started with watching the sunrise from south beach. During a boat trip, Filip nervously took my hands and declared his love to me, before taking out the ring and asking me to marry him. I said yes without hesitating and we both cried tears of joy.

Which Jeune gown did you fall in love with?
How was your experience?

I tried on a few different wedding dresses to find the right one. I didn’t have a specific designer or style in mind but my vision became more clear for every dress I tried on. After I had tried on a few wedding dresses with different styles I started to create a wishlist of the most important features, I was struggling to find one dress that had all the features I was looking for. When I tried on the Medina dress I finally felt like I had found the right dress.

My 3 favourite features were the train, the back of the dress and just how I felt when I was wearing it – the dress truly was a perfect fit for me.

Tell us about your wedding.

We got married in the beginning of June 2024 at the Elixir wedding venue in Ibiza, Spain. The venue is beautifully situated overlooking the sea and the magical Es Vedra. We booked the venue about 1.5 years before the wedding day and got a lot of help from the Elixir team with planning all the arrangements.

Because we decided on a destination wedding we were a bit nervous about how our family and friends would react but everyone was just as excited as us! Our 60 closest family and friends in all ages travelled to Ibiza from different parts of the world to celebrate with us.
All the help we got from the Elixir team gave us plenty of time to focus on little things that made our wedding day feel more personal. A mix of the vibrant Ibiza we love and our favourite Swedish traditions to create memorable moments, not only for the two of us but also for all our guests.

What was your favourite moment from the big day?

There are so many memorable moments from our wedding day. From the excitement of getting ready while having the entire day ahead of us, to all the emotional toasts during the reception. If we were to select one out of all these moments, it is the moment we first locked eyes on each other from opposite sides of the aisle. All the nervousness was immediately replaced with joy and excitement.

What advice would you share with future Jeune brides ?

My advice would be to remember that it’s your day, make decisions based on your own preferences not what you think others would like.

As well, don’t over plan, the day probably won’t turn out just like you plan it to be anyway. Giving it some space for spontaneity will make your day less stressful and probably even more memorable.
