Jason and I actually graduated high school in the same year but didn’t officially meet until years later after seeing each other at a Halloween party. He was still the shy funny guy I remembered hearing about in high school and I enjoyed getting to know him better not realising how amazing he was.
We started dating, taking it slow until two years later, when Jason was diagnosed with cancer. It really made us evaluate the time we have and how tomorrow is never promised.
At his 6 month checkup to see if the radiation and chemo treatments worked, Jason got the all clear, cancer was in remission! He arranged for me and my parents to go to my favorite French restaurant to celebrate and proposed right there in front of everyone. I was absolutely surprised (my parents never gave away any hints even though they knew) and I gave an emotional, enthusiastic yes!!
As soon as I saw the Olympia gown online I KNEW that was my dress.
The dress is absolutely unique with the romantic fabric that is neither lace or beading like most other dresses. The cut had such opulence with the dramatic flare and sleeves I was searching for and the style reflected the spanish venue of our destination wedding. Everything about the dress was perfection.
I had researched hundreds of styles online and tried on several dresses that were modern styles but none of them felt like they sang to me. I really wanted something unique. When I saw the Olympia gown online I knew it was exactly what I wanted. I was able to find the dress at a trunk show in Oklahoma so it was meant to be. My mother and sister knew as soon as I walked out and said the dress was made for me.
VIEW OLYMPIA
We got married at our favorite resort in Cabo San Lucas, where we had a beautiful destination wedding with 60 of our favorite people. The resort featured vibrant color schemes and stunning arches inspired by Spanish architecture, reminiscent of the Mediterranean. Our flowers were influenced by the bright local bougainvillea with a loose bouquet of bright and unique flowers added in. The wedding ceremony was ocean front seating in white chairs and a simple canopy decorated with our flowers. We moved the dinner to a local restaurant filled with vivid local folk art that had open canopy seating to the stars.
Our favorite moment was when members of our family surprised us and took the microphone during the ceremony to make vows to us to support our love and marriage. Having a support system around us is such a gift.
Look for a dress that speaks to you that may be completely different than what you had in mind. Feeling beautiful looks different on everyone so dont worry about the trends and go with your unique style!
